I'm not sure why people would rate this light as decent unless they consider factors other than the sheer brightness of the light, I'm the most important aspect . Some people are more picky about whether it can be used as a phone charger or whether it should have USBC over Micro-USB and other little things like that that I don't care at all. The second bike light I bought is actually as bright as the description says at 1200 lumens. Any of those bike lights advertised at four, five, and 6000 lumens, unless they have three or four XML-2 LEDs, they just can't deliver that kind of light output, at least not at current levels. LED lighting technology. This light, as bright as the Rock Brothers I recently reviewed on video, is as bright as advertised. I haven't uploaded the video yet, but I can. The light itself is made of durable aluminum and the bike mount is made of extremely durable, thick plastic that will easily last for years and is very well made. I like this type of bike light with a quick release system where you can not only remove the light from the mount but also unscrew the handle and quickly remove the light from the bike to either take it with you or mount it on another bike if needed. The taillight is decently bright, but not super bright, but I like the different flashing functions that are usually only found in pricier flashlights, such as bottom-up, but I'm not sure what it's called. The only thing that stinks about the system is the rubber tail light mount with a built in plastic clip that can be clipped to a belt or pants as it looks like this tail light is really meant more for those who walk or jog, and they came up with a rubber system where the clip is inserted into a slot on the rubber mount and then attached to the bike. As others have said it doesn't hold up securely so it might be a good idea to put a tie in the middle if you're going to be walking over rough terrain or actually using it in the mountains and jumping a lot. I could easily see how it would turn out. If you're a serious Knight Rider and you're like me and like to throw lots of lumens in front of you to really see what you're doing, this flashlight will definitely do the trick. I believe even at low levels it still puts out around 400 lumens and is more than bright enough to see pitch black trails or trails through the woods which I usually enjoy riding late at night. My only complaint about this light is that unfortunately the beam is a bit more focused than I would like. This is by no means a flashlight spot beam type and it's quite a large circle of light, but I'd like it to be more diffuse to use those 1200 lumens to see a larger area as I can have more sidelight. just as important as the distance. But it's a really good bike light and for $25 you'd have to spend up to $100 and a bike shop to get a light this bright that does the same job. The only thing I didn't like about the light was the additional modes like slow and fast strobe and SOS mode. Even the slow mode was very fast and the fast flash was around 10 flashes per second and is one of the fastest I've seen, even on a tactical flashlight. It's just too fast to be really useful at all times except in broad daylight, but even then it's just too fast in my opinion. But as for the brightness of that light and the color of the beam which is probably around 6000K, it's as advertised and very bright and what's good is that it doesn't get that dark when you go to medium and low . that it's useless, which is important because I've had bike lights where you go from a thousand lumens and low mode to 50 lumens, which is just too low to be useful at night. So if you are looking for a flashlight that will definitely help you see distances and use it on back roads or in the woods, then this is definitely for you. as it can be used as a bike light or removed and used as a flashlight and the beam will definitely shine hundreds of feet (over 100 meters) with ease.
