Great value for the money, definitely recommended!

I bought this lens from my hands at a photo forum for 8500r as a pair for Panas 14-45. Before that, Olympus 40-150 was from the "body", changed it due to the lack of a stabilizer, because. I shoot with a Panasov camera. I will say right away that the image stabilizer does not always save, some of the pictures turn out to be blurry, especially at long focal lengths and shutter speeds close to the permissible focal length, although it sometimes smears with a margin, so you have to take several takes, I think you need to take a more stable body position Or use a monopod. This lens is not suitable for photography, the focal length is too small, it does not reach close-up birds, but it does not pretend to this role, there is a Panasonic 100-300 for this. And the Panasonic 45-150 can shoot excellent portraits, close-up landscapes, highlighting individual details, flowers, butterflies, city streets, it zooms in well, moderately flattens the space, so that when shooting streets along the volume remains. P. S. I recommend this lens to all amateurs as an excellent pair for a whale lens and who is not interested in hunting for birds and other distant living creatures.

Pros
  • 1) Very compact size, slightly larger than the whale panas 14-42 and shorter, but slightly thicker than its fellow Olympus M. Zuiko 40-150 4-5.6. In addition, the retractable part is compact, it does not leave the lens far, unlike the same Olympus 40-150. Easily fits on the camera in a small purse 2) The presence of an optical image stabilizer 3) Very fast and silent autofocus 4) Good sharpness, including at the edges, drops uncritically closer to the long end 5) Resistant to distortion and chromatic aberration 6) Holds backlight well, whether it be the sun or a lantern, with almost no glare 7) Metal bayonet 8) Good external performance, strong body, no squeaks and fallout of the trunk, metal-lined lower part of the lens and lens hood included
Cons
  • Of the shortcomings, I can name too high a price, because the lens is "dark" and the range of focal lengths is not so large (I would say that they are simply cut off, it would be desirable to have 200mm on a long one) in order to wring this price. Otherwise, there are no significant shortcomings for its class.
