I have tried a few different shoes from Merrell, Columbia, Salomon Outline and after reading a few reviews of the comfort and fit of Salomon women's running shoes had read shoes. Ultra 3 GTX has chosen to do this. I usually wear a 5.5 in Brooks Ghost/Asiscs and after trying the Salomon contours in 5.5 (too big) I settled on a 5 and am glad I did. This shoe fits great. At first I didn't like the quick lacing system because I found the laces were too long after putting them on, but then I saw a YouTube video where you hide the excess under the "pocket" on the shoe's tongue . brilliant! I am an avid athlete, do a lot of walking on my feet and am currently suffering from leg pain, achilles tendinitis and wanted something comfortable. I used to run in running shoes, but afterwards I had severe pain in my legs, so I decided to have treatment. I decided on running shoes and after a 5 day hike with my family in central Oregon, I realized this was the right choice.
