Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn

I was glad to get these shoes as I have a friend who loves this brand and I love the lacing (which makes it impossible to untie the laces ). I've tried walking in them twice and each time my feet hurt so much I seriously considered taking them off and ending the walk in my socks. They're long but not wide, so you'll end up wearing thicker socks that make them narrower. It's too late for me to return them as I've worn them outside so my word to the wise is to try and wear them at home for asโ€ฆ

Nice light weight and support

I'm pretty much a Salomon shoe snob. I have hiking shoes and trail running shoes which are awesome. Instead of wearing trail running shoes on day hikes, I opted for these hiking shoes this year and also opted for Gore-Tex. Like all my Solomons, they are suitable for love, meaning dreams straight out of the box. No cracks, no blisters. I noticed that these shoes are stiffer than trail running shoes. This provides excellent support for the entire foot and ankles. You are less likely to twist your

What a great hiking shoe!

Years ago I checked reviews of hiking boots/shoes after spending money on a brand that wasn't waterproof as advertised. I came across this brand and style as highly rated and reasonably priced. I really like these hiking shoes. I also have two pairs of Ultra3 GTX hiking shoes, one for home and one for work. The shoes are as great as the boots: comfortable, waterproof, great for off-road use and also cut a fine figure as leisure shoes. I wear 9-1/2 dress shoes, but I usually need 10-1/2 shoesโ€ฆ

I have tried several shoes before

I have tried a few different shoes from Merrell, Columbia, Salomon Outline and after reading a few reviews of the comfort and fit of Salomon women's running shoes had read shoes. Ultra 3 GTX has chosen to do this. I usually wear a 5.5 in Brooks Ghost/Asiscs and after trying the Salomon contours in 5.5 (too big) I settled on a 5 and am glad I did. This shoe fits great. At first I didn't like the quick lacing system because I found the laces were too long after putting them on, but then I saw aโ€ฆ

Disappointed hiking shoes

I ordered two pairs of these shoes, one for me and one for my sister, size 8 and 9 M, after carefully checking the size chart and Amazon's questions and answers about the difference between consulted the sizes had code M and W indicated in the table. The answer was M for normal width and W for larger width. After that clarification, I ordered our sizes 8M and 9M and was pretty sure that I would get a shoe that would fit best. However, I was completely shocked to receive two shoes in sizes 8 and

The worst! in hiking boots

I was very excited about the arrival of these shoes as I have had several pairs of Salomon shoes that I have loved over the years and expected the same. Bought them in April, only worn on a few hikes and stored properly and they are falling apart. The lace tongues are thin and cracking and the sole has come off the shoe. I bought these shoes in April and made several attempts in May, June and July to fill out an online form on the Salomon website to get the promised warranty coverage, spent aโ€ฆ

Almost perfect for those of us with narrow feet

Let's face it, it's hard - no, impossible - to find the perfect trail shoe, but this one is close to my heart. My last ones were Chacos which I really love for their support and quality. But Chaco shoes are designed for the average foot, they're neither narrow nor wide, and like most brands, there's no width. I found my foot curled up in the shoe when stepping on rocks, despite the tightest/most comfortable lacing in the instep. This is not the case with these Solomons. They are still a bitโ€ฆ

Choose your REGULAR size. What about the Achilles tendon?

Will buy Revain again where the size chart let me down. I'm a typical size 9 with a standard foot width. I use insoles to prevent overpronation. Instead of ordering a size 9, I used the size chart and measured my foot length. Size 8.5 wide is what I came up with. Too tight at the back of the heel and caused pain from the start. Swapped for a size 9 and my feet just floated in them. Huge difference for half a size up. Returned. I found the regular size 9 purple ones from another company. Theyโ€ฆ

Recommended for narrow feet that need stability, grippy steps

I was looking for a replacement shoe for my old Salomon Ellipse GTX touring boots which I LOVED! They were chosen for me by the local REI in New Jersey due to my need for narrow feet, overpronation and work shoes for outdoor activities. They literally lulled my feet and walked me through all kinds of mud, snow and beaches. They have worked brilliantly for me for several years and I always thought I would buy the same shoes again when/when they wore out. Well I live in the US Virgin Islands nowโ€ฆ
