Years ago I checked reviews of hiking boots/shoes after spending money on a brand that wasn't waterproof as advertised. I came across this brand and style as highly rated and reasonably priced. I really like these hiking shoes. I also have two pairs of Ultra3 GTX hiking shoes, one for home and one for work. The shoes are as great as the boots: comfortable, waterproof, great for off-road use and also cut a fine figure as leisure shoes. I wear 9-1/2 dress shoes, but I usually need 10-1/2 shoes for walking. Size 9-1/2, they fit great, lots of room in the toe box but they don't slide on my narrow heel. These boots and hiking shoes have never had to be broken in. They never gave me blisters, even after a full day of hiking. I'm so in love with them my husband bought a pair of boots too.
