Review on 🌟 Top-rated and Waterproof: Salomon X Ultra 3 GTX Women's Hiking Shoes by Raffy Baer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Recommended for narrow feet that need stability, grippy steps

I was looking for a replacement shoe for my old Salomon Ellipse GTX touring boots which I LOVED! They were chosen for me by the local REI in New Jersey due to my need for narrow feet, overpronation and work shoes for outdoor activities. They literally lulled my feet and walked me through all kinds of mud, snow and beaches. They have worked brilliantly for me for several years and I always thought I would buy the same shoes again when/when they wore out. Well I live in the US Virgin Islands now and walk hilly concrete roads and rocky beaches and park trails. The upper loosened up a bit and the heels wore out to the point where they slipped on the descents. I'm ready to buy my new Ellipse GTX and they are no longer made! :>(So the new model is Salomon X Ultra 3 GTX women's hiking shoes. It took some effort to send them here, since there are no decent shoe stores in VI. Across the shoe - only in one shoe. If only they would have been like that I would have kept them I sent them back when I got back to the mainland they sent me a new pair and I also compared them to a sturdy pair of KEEN hiking boots that I tried on at the Bass Pro Shop (I think , they were Targhee III KEEN were too wide for my narrow feet and annoyingly digging into my ankle area.Really weird, uncomfortable and unsafe/grippy on my heel.Regarding lacing and comfort: First time running 9 miles and their feet ache .Why not carefully acclimate the shoes and put our feet forward? They ask for trouble. It took me a few days of walking around the house in boots to decide if I liked them and if I mi I feel comfortable enough to walk on hilly terrain. I've finally made it. As for the quick lacing system, you just don't have the option to adjust the tightness where you want/need it, especially if you have an unusually shaped foot and need more room over bunions etc. I have to put up with the loose spring for walking on paved surfaces and tighter jumping for rocky trails and beaches. Bottom line: swap out the laces if you need a custom fit. Conclusion: I'm happy with the X Ultra 3 for my slim heel. I really wish the sock was a little more generous. I still have my old Ellipse GTX and am trying to restore them as a great backup shoe for bad weather.
