This is a fantastic knife. I bought this as a stocking filler for my girlfriend. I used it to peel a winter squash (thick skin) and it did the job the same way I would peel a potato. My mom has one so it was the first one I tried and that's why I bought it. Easy to hold, unlike the old all-metal blocks, detaches from both thin (tomato) and thick skins. End up buying one for yourself, I took that advice and bought another. One for each of my adult children next year and then another 10 years and I will be getting them for my grandchildren.
