I wanted to put some garlands on the edge of the patio railing to make the evening lighting more attractive so as not to attract as many insects. I turned on the light and then wished there was an easier way for me to turn on the light so the light is on when I get home and then go right before bed after my last evening walk to walk the dogs to go for a walk. Unfortunately. The spotlights were connected to an extension cord at the far end of the deck, which wasn't very convenient. So I found this device from dusk to dawn when I wanted to, but even better I could choose 2-6 hours after sunset. This will be a great feature in winter. I jumped for joy when I discovered that the remote worked from my back door and wasn't even in the unit's field of view. As far as I can tell, after a month of using different settings, it's working better than I expected. I even used it on stormy nights.
