Review on πŸŽ€ Pattiewack Designs Mini Pom Maker, 5" x 3 by Linda Diaz

Difficult tool to use

I make a rug out of pom poms and thought it would be invaluable for making the hundreds of pom poms I need. However, it's so big and chunky that if I wrap yarn around it 100 times (yes, I count every time), it flies out of my hand. If I can't get into the rhythm, I get very upset. Once you have wrapped the yarn around the patiwak, you should slide the yarn down to the narrower part to tie the yarn around the center tight enough so that the yarn doesn't fall out. Also, you cannot trim the ends of the yarn as it is wrapped very tightly. It helps if you slide the yarn along the patiwak to a narrower part to trim it as well. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to get between yarn and Pativak with the scissors.

Pros
  • Almost anything that can be wrapped around a tool can be made into a pom pom such as yarn, cord, tulle, embroidery, thread, lace ribbon, felt and even newspaper strips
Cons
  • expensive
