1) A lot of reviews say they can't program the key to start the car 2) A few reviews said there was a random black plastic piece in the kit 3) I had key programming issues too and I had too This random black plastic piece came with my key4) It turns out you have to put this black plastic piece in the key before you can program the key. I suspect that the black plastic element actually contains the transponder that the key needs to start the car. Check out the pictures attached to my review to see what I'm talking about. *** It is also important to note that the black plastic ignition switch cover used on my Lincoln Town and other Ford vehicles prevents you from inserting a key. To fix this you can either remove the lid entirely (which looks ugly) - or cut out a rectangle in the lid (which also looks ugly)
