500 W heater does its job perfectly
I installed a 500 watt heater horizontally in the center of my 118 gallon tank and set the temperature at 77 degrees. A few hours later I checked the temperature with a laser thermometer. The middle two thirds were exactly 77 degrees and both ends were 76 degrees. So far I am very satisfied with this product.
