Let me first say that my sons love this marble walkway. They've been playing with it for hours, constantly building and rearranging different tracks. They are young (5, 6 and 7 years old) but understood how to build different courses and how different parts work together. My frustration as a parent is that the pieces don't fit together very closely. Often there are tears and screams because the barrel collapses. If you build a large alley - with various twists and turns - the pieces will never be exactly the same height and it's impossible to make them solid. It looks like there was a manufacturing error that left out measuring each part to allow a child to use them interchangeably. Because of the way the pieces are put together, the base is often 1/4 inch off the ground, and then the rail drops continuously. My boys take turns holding it and using random books to fill in the blanks, but I honestly expected more. In addition, parts regularly fall apart, which reduces mileage. They need to be tighter because when the barrel doesn't hold it's very frustrating. However, the boys continue to play with him, even if there are many problems.
