**UPDATED REVIEW** I love the water bottle but the lid is really bad. It's actually dangerous. It's one of those caps where you can just screw it all the way in and then pop it out. So if you turn it clockwise ("really tight") to close it, it **closes **almost**, and then if you turn it further clockwise, it opens fully again. **NO WAY TO CLOSE THE CAP COMPLETELY** This is dangerous! Especially with a glass bottle. Luckily I didn't drop it. But with a glass bottle, it's crucial that the lid closes completely (and NEVER opens again if you keep turning it). This is a terrible design flaw. **FIRST REVIEW** This is a great water bottle. I have several glass water bottles, each with their pros and cons. And this is no exception. It's a LIGHT cut. This can be both for and against, depending on what you are looking for. Narrow necks are VERY difficult to clean. If you try to clean it with a bottle brush, it will most likely scratch the glass. The brush probably won't clean very well either, as it's difficult to move around in a jar with a narrow opening. Again I use it for **WATER**! Don't flatten! If you want a smoothie style glass water bottle, go for the WIDE Mouth! You can easily clean the wide opening with a bottle brush. I love Kabo's glass water bottle for this. But I wanted a bottleneck for drinking water for the reasons I list below. To clean this bottle, I suggest filling it to the top with hot soapy water, putting the cap on and shaking vigorously for a few seconds. Leave the water on for a while. The mouthpiece can be cleaned with a soapy sponge. Rinse well. It can also be washed in the dishwasher. In my opinion, it is much easier to drink from narrow necks. Water doesn't spill when you try to drink. In fact, you can **drink** water without getting wet. However, wide-mouth bottles are much more difficult to drink if you're moving at all (even if you're driving and trying to take a quick sip). If the hole is wide, water will spill out everywhere. Drinking from a wide mouth, if you move at all, is very painful. That's why I love this bottle! Plus, it's **THIN** glass! It's not fat! This too can be for or against. If you want thicker glass, use borosilicate glass (there's one in the Kabo bottle as well as some Origin bottles). They are heavy and thick. You can drink hot water from borosilicate glass and it is shatterproof. It's NOT fat. For room temperature or cold water only. It will break easily! However, it is lightweight while borosilicate glass is not. Again, it's all about what you're looking for. A 32-ounce water bottle gets heavy, especially with glass. Borosilicate glass is heavier than this bottle. The lightness factor is a big plus for me. I didn't want a heavy bottle. What I like most about this glass is the curved shape of the glass! Super easy to grab. Much easier than my other straight sided Kabo bottles. The silicone is just as easy to stick. In addition, it has a silicone bumper on the bottom to prevent it from tipping over or sliding off the surface. It's very, very well designed. The cut-outs reduce the risk of falling significantly. In my opinion, feels much better in the hand than glass bottles with straight walls and a protective cover. But you have to be careful with that. Glass (especially thin glass) breaks! It's glass! If that bothers you, then this bottle is not for you. I use this in my car where the risk of breakage/dropping is low. I also carry it in my purse/backpack. I wouldn't use this in the gym. I would have preferred a more durable bottle. But I love this bottle for what it serves.
