The camera is fairly easy to install with a few simple tools. I used a drill, wire strippers, some butt connectors and then some caulk to finish the project. Installation took about an hour. I connected the power source through the center marker light. For those who have pre-wiring available, things get even easier. When using sidelights, I only have to turn on the sidelights or headlights to power the camera and thus turn it on. I drilled a hole for the wires and then used the included rubber grommet to feed the wires through the camper. I used silicone to seal around and in the grommet to keep it watertight. I installed the camera as close to the roofline as possible. I sealed the mount with a non-leveling lap sealer to keep the camera mount waterproof as well. We then drove about 4 hours and I used the camera as a reversing camera while driving. I started getting some dropouts and video lag while driving. I suspect it had to do with a 30ft trailer. A shorter trailer will likely solve this problem. The signal has to travel about 45 feet to reach the receiver. Using this setup as a backup camera at obviously lower speeds worked brilliantly. I then bought an extra antenna (not pictured) and connected it to the air conditioner. I needed a 5 meter cable. They also have one with a 3m cable if that's all you need. My AC bolts are magnetic and would probably hold the antenna, but I also used clear tape to make sure it wouldn't come loose while driving. I can use Enterna Bond if we decide to keep this antenna permanently. Adding the antenna helped, and the video was a lot smoother when driving at highway speeds, although don't expect it to be super smooth. It's still a bit choppy and has a slower frame rate than regular video - probably somewhere around 10fps if I had to guess. This camera really helps to know when we are actually passing a vehicle when overtaking a slower vehicle. My wife feels a lot safer driving the van with the camera on, so she knows she's passed a slower vehicle before she gets back in. Overall it's a good buy. Just don't expect super smooth video when using it as a backup camera at highway speeds. As a backup, this will definitely help you avoid having to jump out of the truck every few seconds to make sure you don't hit anything. I rated durability as high as it appears to be very durable, but time will tell for how long. it takes time. Easy Installation I rated it 4 stars but it could be installed by almost anyone with basic tooling skills. I rated the image quality 4 stars due to image quality degradation at high speeds.
