Review on πŸ’‘ Bayonet Daylight Interior Replacement Bulb by Andy Edwards

A very bright lamp that works well for my needs!

I bought this lamp because I needed a custom base for my existing Allen-Bradley column light; These units use a 24 volt bulb which is pretty much the same as the 1157 but with the pins aligned instead of the 1157's biased ones. Which is a shame because I already had a couple of 1157 LED bulbs - I was thinking of modifying one but decided not to do it. not sure if it stays on the pedestal - nor was it possible to change the pedestal. And the output pigtails for the 1157 didn't seem designed for how I wanted to use the lamp. What I wanted to make was a strobe beacon with a 12 volt transistor controlled lamp (and Ultimate via microcontroller) - it's perfect for all needs, it's very bright and doesn't draw much current (perfect for TIP102 which I manage with it). With the right code on the controller, it flashes well, almost as well as a xenon flash. etc. What surprised me about light bulbs is that these bulbs are not "bare" (i.e. circuit boards with LEDs) or in clear glass or plastic "bulbs" like you sometimes see (better for car headlights ), molded silicone rubber in a very clear case. Mostly filled with rubber - but that is very clear. Such a detail should make the lamp very durable - moisture and other problems that get on the LEDs and drivers should not be a problem at all. I think this lamp will work well for any purpose or need and the price is great too. !
