Thread chipping in camera mounts and clamps
On first use when attempting to remove the adapter from the tripod the male thread portion broke into a spiral metal thread. It appears to have been made by wrapping around a thin piece of metal to make the female and male threads, which came loose the first time I had to disassemble the head I was using from the tripod. This is a good concept, but you'll need to look for a more robust design where the ยผ female thread is not in the 3/8 male thread.
