I haven't had much luck with dehumidifiers in the past. A friend of mine bought this dehumidifier and advised me to try it. The fact that this is a high-quality device can already be seen from the packaging and labeling. You can set the humidity, set the mode (even for drying clothes), etc. It's very quiet and has a big impact on the humidity in my basement. When I first turned it on, the humidity in the room was 85%. After a few days of use, the level dropped to around 40% (with the device running). It really pulls moisture out of the room and I don't smell like musky anymore (which is a "HUGE" difference) than in the past. You can't go wrong buying this product. This is an amazing machine that works and the warranty is excellent.
