ORIGINAL REVIEW: Suction power isn't as good as a regular vacuum (obviously), but it's good as a sweeper in the kitchen and on any tiled or laminated surface. I stand next to the carpet, I will use it there too, but with my 3 dogs, my Shark vacuum is really essential for a full carpet cleaning. My use is from the den to the kitchen to the living room. These are my 3 largest rooms and all have a combination of tile and carpet. I use my Shark in my bedrooms and a plain rug in my living room. Again, I use this mainly as a broom/sweeper. I bought it for $90 and while it's a steep price for a 'broom', it's a must have in our home due to the backyard traffic, the pet hair on the tiles and the fact that my disabled family member can use it, without bending down Sweep objects into the dustpan. This makes sweeping quick and easy. I use it once a day. He is light. They are easy to use. It is easy to empty. It's easy to store. just bought a second one for my country house. I used my original at my primary residence. However, I just bought a second one for my tiny beach house. This stick vacuum is NOT as powerful as my Dyson or Shark vacuums; However, it should not actually be a rechargeable vacuum cleaner. My Dyson and Shark vacuums are designed for deep cleaning. This stick vacuum cleaner is designed for tiled, wooden and laminate floors and in some cases also for carpets. For full carpet cleaning I use a large vacuum cleaner: Dyson or Shark. However, this handheld vacuum is PERFECT for dog hair, shredded paper, garden grass clippings and general dirt on flat floors. I love it and it's so comfortable. I don't use brooms and dustpans for anything anymore! Eventually I taught my husband how to lift it up to use as a floor sweeper. That's pretty remarkable. When he finally used it, he liked it. And this person hates sweeping/mopping floors. My husband has back problems so bending down to sweep the dustpan hurts him. With this wand, he can vacuum what he usually sweeps without having to bend down to empty the trash into the trash can. This has been my favorite household cleaner for years!
