USB did not work right away. I wish I could try that before I remove the radio. Update 1: 29.12. After playing around with it for a while and testing each pin on the back of the connector, it seemed like the problem was with the extension cord. I didn't pay attention to which direction it was attached because they are usually one sided. One direction is good, the other not so good. When I put it on with no power, it doesn't work in either direction. I looked at the pictures of the product online and found that they attached it in a way that was not easy. I put it on like this, gave it some power and it slid well. It works now.
