One dead chicken later, let me tell you why I returned this product. Basically it's inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Rather than providing the consistent feedback needed for effective learning, it appears random (to the dog) and encourages testing more, rather than just avoiding the behavior. The vibration button is stuck. That's a problem. When you turn the collar off it makes a LOUD beeping sound which me, my dog and all the people trying to sleep in my house absolutely hate. The controller has 2 collar functionality, but there is only one collar. So if you're not careful, you could accidentally switch to a nonexistent collar #2 - then the collar your dog is actually wearing won't work. I like that the battery lasts a long time. One final piece of advice on stun collars in general - I thought animals learned quickly with a stun collar. But actually it still takes some time, maybe a few weeks or more. So don't expect overnight results even if you buy a decent stun collar.
