Review on Gray Liberty Pumps 257 Pump, 1.5 Inches by Randy Jagers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good reliable pump, the best among submersible pumps

We are 3 years old so it's time to give a review. The previous two pumps we had were the cheapest plastic pumps in the home store. The first lasted exactly three years (out of warranty only). In the second case, the float got stuck in the pit wall and dried up indefinitely. We wanted one with a side sliding float so it wouldn't get stuck. Despite the shorter/more frequent cycles inherent in this type of swimmer, this thing has performed flawlessly so far. We live in low-lying areas and large puddles form in our poorly drained yard. When it rains, this pump works up to 3 times per minute. We also have a well pit that drains into a swamp PLUS a water softener that drains into it PLUS a washing machine that dumps water into it. All of this means that this pump takes a lot of punishment and still works. Also, it's SILENCE.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other models
