Review on πŸ–€ Black Billet Emblem - All Sales 96181K by Johnny Pigao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent and reliable replacement for the old grill emblem.

The standard gold plastic Chevy bow tie badge on our 2004 Chevy Silverado (purchased since launch) has been looking pretty bad for the last few years so I found and bought this upgraded all metal version. in black (they were different colors) for our truck. I think the new emblem looks great and fits in perfectly with the space left by removing the old emblem. The old emblem was fairly easy to remove as it was held on the back with plastic pins and 10mm diameter screw-on metal nuts which are easy to remove. I used a socket to remove and install nuts. The new all-metal badge includes some vague instructions for this installation, new grub screws, washers and a lock nut of sorts for a new installation. I gave it 3 stars for ease of installation as while I was able to fit the new emblem easily, it didn't fit in the holes on the original emblem and I needed a drill and drill bit to widen the holes so the new steering knuckles would fit like You should. I also used threadlock on the grub screws in the metal body of the emblem and a small allen wrench (NOT included!) to install the grub screws into the emblem. Carefully clean the area where the emblem will be on the grille, remove the red covers from the four included areas to stick the new emblem and thanks to the enlarged holes the new emblem will fit easily and perfectly on the truck. Fit washers and new and 10mm nuts to the back of the grille and you are done. The last photo shows the new badge installed. I like it! Now all I have to do is wash the truck to get a prettier grille!
