Review on Convert SD/SDHC Card to IDE 3.5" Drive with KOOBOOK 1Pcs Adapter: Male IDE HDD Adapter by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Didn't work on 8 different PCs from 1988 to 2004.

I tried this idea to run SD cards on 8 different PCs, 1 Packard Bell Legend I, custom 386SX-25, custom 386DX-40, one with Promise ISA controller card and the other with universal I/ O controllers, custom 486DX-33 with PT477 I/O controller, custom 486DX2-66 with integrated VLB IDE, custom Pentium 200MMX, custom Pentium II with BX440 card, and custom AthlonXP with Nforce2 chipset. I'm using a brand new Ultra ATA 100 capable IDE cable. When I couldn't get it to work I tried other cables, that have been tested and work well with other computers and other drive types. On this card I can format normally but as soon as I start the installation I get error messages that the drive cannot be found or errors that say it cannot write to C and data may be lost in Win95, Win98 and Windows XP. None of the computers started, regardless of the memory card I used. I have a 128MB card, a 512MB card, a 4GB card, a 2GB card, an 8GB card, a 16GB card and two different 32GB cards Tried maps. On those machines that this device didn't work with? Normal IDE hard drives and compact flash adapters worked perfectly. I'm glad to see that others are lucky but this thing was absolute bullshit to me. an 8GB card, a 16GB card and two different 32GB cards. On these machines with which this device did not work? Normal IDE hard drives and compact flash adapters worked perfectly. I'm glad to see other people have luck, but this thing was absolute bullshit to me. an 8GB card, a 16GB card and two different 32GB cards. On those machines that this device didn't work with? Pros
  • Converts a Secure Digital Card to IDE-compatible hard drives.
Cons
  • Very expensive
