Saved the day in the heat.
It's hot in our desert apartment. Many days in a row 100+ degree days. One side of the apartment faces west and the sun beats down on 2 large windows and a sliding glass door to the balcony. I used these hooks to attach some opaque shower curtains to the blind valances. First I tried small hooks but they didn't work. These large hooks made it easy for me to attach the curtains and the difference was amazing. No more heat was coming in and the air conditioning got a breather. When the heat is over I can lower the curtains in seconds.
