Review on DEEP COOL GAMMAXX 400 V2 Blue CPU Air Cooler - 4 Heatpipes, 120mm PWM Fan, Blue LED - Intel/AMD-Compatible (AM4 Supported) by Nick Morales

On the recommendation of serious tech enthusiast Steve from HardwareUnboxed / Techspot I ordered this Gammaxx 200T as a cheap but decent secondary cooler for my Ryzen 2200G. Officially purchased it from Revain.com Services, Inc in July of this year. No, not compatible with AM4. The packaging/instructions didn't mention anything about AM4, and after unplugging everything, opening the case, removing the stock Wraith Stealth cooler, removing the old thermal paste (and removing the pre-applied stuff on the Gammaxx 200T), I tried the to test installation. I picked this up before applying Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste. No, I couldn't install. AMD chips don't use special brackets, just two pieces that come pre-installed on every motherboard. The cooler has two latches that should hook into two tabs on the standard brackets. One latch can be hung without any problems, but the other latch cannot be screwed. I even tried loosening the screws to increase clearance but to no avail. Not only that, the base of the cooler seems smaller than the size of the IHS 2200G! At this point I had to use expensive thermal paste from Noctua to reinstall the Wraith Stealth cooler I was trying to replace. Not happy with that. For some of the other parts I felt entitled to pay a quality assurance premium knowing I could keep them for years. Maybe I should have done that here too.
