Doesn't work in cables and connectors

The item I received looked like it had been repackaged. I used to buy printer cables and this one looked like someone had returned it and they just recirculated it and sold it to me. When I plugged it in, I couldn't print because my computer didn't register the printer as connected. I switch to a different printer cable and the printer is recognized.
