I am a therapist and work in a rehabilitation center in a nursing home. I come home with back pain almost every day. My pain is mostly between the shoulder blades and not in the lumbar region like most people. I found that lying on the floor daily and raising my arms above my head really helped lengthen my back. I used it for the first time today and OMG. That felt so great. I immediately heard and felt a whole series of "pops" in the prone position and then released muscle tension. The grooves in this device actually put the perfect amount of pressure on my sore spots, which is why I feel that "good pain". Made of medium-hard foam. It may seem too complicated for some, not enough for others. For me it was PERFECT. I first bought it for my sister-in-law, but I'm considering keeping it for myself.
