Works well but I bought a DX pen and can't compare it to anything. I cut myself several times with this razor while I had no cuts with a pen. Seems easier to cut. Perhaps the blade or blade exposure is the culprit. It was a good first razor to see if I liked this style of shaving but then switched to a better one. You get what you paid for and if you've never tried a pen or anything of higher quality then you don't know any better. For a beginner I'd say it's fine if you just want to see if this shaving style works for you, but on the other hand you can cut yourself more often and pass out as a result.
