Works well. This purchase is a replacement for the same model. We have sand in our turtle tank and I've learned the hard way to make sure the sand settles before the filter runs or the sand will ruin it after a few months. The filter is not to blame. Also, many people complain that it doesn't work properly anymore, but all you have to do is rinse the inside of the filter between the inlets and the impeller with hot water to remove slime and dirt from time to time, and it works fine.
