My granddaughter has a skinny guinea pig (aka a pet hippopotamus from the US) that eats organic meadow hay all the time to keep her teeth normal size, so we eat a lot of hay. Or we looked through a lot of hay before we bought these hay feeders. Because these hay feeders prevent hay from being dumped (and soiled) on the habitat floor, we use about 1/3 less hay each week.
