Truth! for protective gear

I bought this for mips and transition shield. I feel a lot more comfortable just knowing that the Mips technology is in the helmet. I also LOVE the transfer shield. Here's what I'm thinking a month later: Mips - I really feel more confident with the Mips technology. I hope I never need it, but knowing it's there is reassuring. The Transition Shield is the best shield I have ever owned or seen. I have very sensitive eyes and in the past I've either worn sunglasses in a clear visor or bought fog visors to block out the sun. Sunglasses can become uncomfortable and just add another layer to your vision. Smoke screens work well until you get caught in the rain or go outside a little later than usual and can't see well over them. This shield is transparent when the sun isn't too strong and tinted when it's bright. I wasn't sure if it would be dark enough, did I mention I have sensitive eyes? Works like clockwork. It doesn't seem to work when you wear it, but I never blink and see very clearly no matter the light conditions. Thumbs up. Noise - I almost took a star off because everyone is right, it can get a bit noisy at higher speeds. I even bought a bluetooth intercom designed for a helmet, thinking it would block some of the noise, but it doesn't. The noise is definitely coming from that area as others have said. However, I used to have an Arai helmet that had a lot of air in it and was just as loud. The noise is not intrusive, earplugs and the like are not needed. It's just the sound of the wind and I understand it's cooling me. Just like any other helmet that provides good blood flow if that helps. It's a good balance between noise and breathability, which is why I left the last star. Size - Be sure to buy one size larger. I was very concerned because I bought the wrong size. I read all the comments and there were enough people saying to buy a size up so I did. Very glad I did. The weight. After my previous neck surgery, this was a big problem for me. I checked all scales before purchasing. I knew beforehand it wasn't as light as my Arai, but it was an $800 helmet. I did a little research and at this price point it was one of the lightest I could find that still offered great security and circulation. I will note that I bought the HJC for riders and the HJC is a little lighter than it's worth. However, it doesn't feel heavy and I don't even feel the weight while riding. Vision – Good, wide field of view and, as mentioned, crystal clear. It hasn't fogged up yet either, even in hot and stuffy conditions. A+
