So this is the fourth replacement carafe I have had to purchase for my Black and Decker coffee maker in the last year and a half. Let's take a look, shall we? This is for my personal coffee maker at my work. I'm the only one who actually uses it, but sometimes a colleague pours himself a cup of coffee from it. I use 4-5 times a week. And this is the 4th replacement I've had to buy. As a decanter it works perfectly. The problem is durability, or rather the lack of it. The original carafe that came with the unit was much better than these replacement parts. The original shattered in an accident that shattered almost every glass coffee pot you can think of. All of these "spare parts" have met their demise in different ways: by dropping too hard on a metal surface (don't slam it, just drop it), dropping a fork off a shelf onto a saucepan, and severing the handle from a glass. when actively pouring coffee. All fairly banal events that, in my opinion, shouldn't have led to the glass breaking. This is the last one I will be buying as I have spent almost $50 replacing $30 coffee maker pots. The crazy part is that the coffee maker itself works great! But I'm tired of changing decanters, so if/when this one breaks I'll buy something else. Maybe with a metal carafe. That being said, the $11 price is what you get.
