Review on Rovtop Professional Stainless Dressmaking Scissors by Kelly Caballes

Not being a traditional tailor or anything like that I can't cover every scenario where they can succeed or fail, but as far as what embroidery scissors are best known for (preserving fabric from unraveling) does its job very well . I bought these for a non-sewing project where I needed to keep the fabric from unraveling so easily and they worked great. The design of the scissors is very good, these things are durable! They cut cleanly and smoothly through the medium to heavyweight fabrics I've used and didn't feel too tight when working with thumb and forefinger grips in a standard cutting process, with or without fabric. I'll add that I'm a man with medium to large hands, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I haven't tested the durability of layered layers as some say they don't work well. but I have a feeling that 'any' scissors will fail if you try to overload them. They are slightly larger than your traditional straight edge scissors that you would use for crafting or sewing. I was a little surprised how much bigger they are, they are a bit longer and wider but also a lot thicker than your regular straight edges. Given what they do, it makes sense that they should be wider and stronger, but having never seen the pinking shears in person I didn't know what to expect. To be honest the sizes are listed right on the description page but I guess I just assumed they were comparable. the size of a conventional straight edge. but with small triangular edges. For those who have the same idea and have never seen or used them before, I have included a couple of comparison photos to show the size difference, firelighter scissors on the left and standard size fabric/craft scissors on the right in both images. ** (See note at end) Despite the difference in size, they worked just like scissors and were comfortable to use. The larger size means they're heavier too, so depending on how much you need to cut in one sitting there's a chance your arm will tire quicker as they weigh twice as much as the standard pair I was comparing. j. Using a food scale, a standard pair weighed just under 2.5 ounces, while pinking shears weighed just under 6 ounces. I would also like to say that I really liked the bonus accessories that came with the scissors, I know several reviews have been downvoted. them as a cheap freebie that costs nothing, but I have to disagree. I've never had a seam ripper and it's an amazing thing, I used the tip of an exacto knife to rip the seam and apparently used the same sharp blade in the seam until I had enough thread to make it easier to manage , so little gadget is so handy. And mini scissors are great as an easy-to-grip tool for quick cuts when you're making a lot of small cuts and don't want to be constantly on and off regular scissors.
