Rovtop Professional Stainless Dressmaking Scissors Review

After reading reviews about it and taking a chance, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a regular size pair of scissors, not large like some of the reviews I've read. Unless you have tiny hands, I think they will look huge, but they are about the size of regular paper cutting scissors. Not heavy and clunky. They cut very smoothly through my polyester fabric. Good buy, I recommend these.

These button scissors are very comfortable to hold. They work well when cutting a single layer of fabric. I sew with cotton and other plant based fabrics so they are usually very light. I tried to cut a circle out of a piece of cambric (very light fabric) using the "triangle fold" method - I got 4 layers of fabric that totaled less than one layer of denim. This detonation shears not only failed, but also got stuck at the turning point.

This is my first time buying a pair of paring shears and I'm wondering why I didn't buy them before. Surprisingly sharp. Very easy to use. It was a bit harsh at first, but after a few sips it got easier. It does have some weight which is definitely a plus as it shows it is well made. I found it good that the thread cutters were ok. This is a fairly low quality item which is good if you are looking for a cost effective solution. Maybe with? Oil? They're good enough, but they don't offer an easy and smooth cut, so your hand will get tired with regular use. The little scissors are a nice bonus and they work as expected. I love them for my knitting bag or for small projects when traveling. The seam ripper is the main element. It's nice to have a replacement.

Yesterday I received the fire starter, ripper and small wire cutter in my Revain locker and they are exactly as ordered. A few notes though: the larger hole in the scissors is a bit small due to the padding and may not be comfortable for long term use or cutting large projects. For the money I paid I wasn't expecting much but I'm very impressed! First, the order came much quicker than promised - quite an achievement in this crown stunner.
