Meginc TPE Floor Mats for Tesla Model 3: $99.99 at time of review When I first bought my Model 3 in 2018, there was in the Carpet department few good protection options. I opted for a set of plastic honeycomb mats, which did a good job of keeping out dirt but had no edges to catch and contain spills. When I saw these Meginc floor mats I decided to give them a try. Read on to find out why I'm using them now but will likely look for replacements in the future. The packaging for these floor mats is just a big box. There is nothing special to describe what is in it. However, they're quite thick material, so they don't need much protection. The longer rear seat floor mat folds in half to fit in the box. It's fine for a short to medium term, but I think my mats have been in the box for too long. There is a crease down the middle that is still there (though much less pronounced) after about a month. One of the other mats (on the driver's side) also has a slight crease as it was in an unvacated box. I think a few hot summer days will bring them back to normal due to the heat in the car. The overall fit of these mats is good at two out of three. The back mat fits perfectly. It slides tightly over the center console bolts and rests against the seat base, creating a near-perfect seal. The driver's side is almost as good. The base of the mat completely fills the driver's side floor pan, but the molded upper left portion (which rests against the footrest) is slightly loose. It's not bad and doesn't affect the mat's ability to protect that side from splashes, muddy shoes, etc., so it's forgivable. Unfortunately, the passenger side does not fit. The base of the mat is about ½ inch too narrow, so no matter which side of the floor you place it on (left or right), there will be a ½ inch gap between the sides of the car (center console or door sill). . ). This allows dirt, water (rain) or in my case dog hair to get under the floor mat and in an outside accident spilled liquid can get under the mat. It's a shame because otherwise I really like the set. As a hint, I press my mat against the center console and slide the other side under the rocker pad that is glued on to hold the mat in place and close the gap. The last thing I will mention is the price. This kit costs about $100 (assuming all three mats fit and my passenger side mat is no accident). Other similar sets range from $120 to $250. It's almost worth the risk as the price may not be right for you. Supplement: The kit includes a protective film for the screen, which is nice. However, I don't need it right now, so I didn't install it. -------------*Advantages*: Beautiful appearance. Functional spill/liquid protection. Excellent price. *Poor*: An ill-fitting passenger mat leaves that side partially open without requiring additional action to close the gap. As it stands I cannot recommend a custom fit kit that will not fit. Three stars out of five, which would easily be five if they fit. I would be tempted to order them again just to see if the poor fit wasn't an accident.
