I am the owner of four cushions now, thanks to injured hamstrings. I have one which is softer than this one and two that are firmer. This one is in the middle. Some cushions are 3" thick and this is about 2" thick so it won't feel as firm as a three inches of the same density. It works very well on the dining chair because it's rounded in the back and my others are not. Nice fabric and color (ordered blue). Unzips and has a handle for carrying the seat. If you're heavier, this would work over another cushion or chair. I'm an average height and weight female and it works fine just as it is.
