This bag is BIG. It can be worn on a belt or other devices, it does not interfere and opens into a huge case when needed. A liter of water fits in there, no problem. (Though it would be inconvenient for hikers to hip-pack a gallon of water.) It's quick and easy to open with one hand and ready to go, and when folded it doesn't get in the way. Like every other Maxpedition gear I own, it is very well made, better than the military gear given to the military/women. It is very versatile, can be used with other gear and is MOLLE compatible. I've even used it to carry dry dog food when we go on long hikes. It easily attaches to his vest.
