Review on πŸ”Œ 6I42 Coupling by Supply Giant - Black, 5 inch by Paul Vanlaere

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with dust collection fittings with minor modifications

I bought this to connect a 5" to 4" adapter to my XL dust kit so I could use my 4" hose to connect to our stationary tools can use. As others please note, this rubber boot is grade 40 PVC while the dust collection ports are grade 20 PVC. The difference lies in the wall thickness. The Schedule 40 has thicker walls, making it large enough to collect dust. But big ones are easy to handle. I cut some mats and glued them to the 5" to 4" adapter as shown above. I taped pieces of gorilla tape (you can also use tape) over the mat and fitting to compress the mat where the fitting goes into the grommet. In general, I recommend doing this in at least 8 evenly spaced spots, starting at the seam in the rug. To connect to the dust replacement I used 12 pieces of tape to allow the dust collection arm to slide easily into the rubber boot. Once the tape was in place, I inserted the fitting into the socket and used my thumbs on either side to gently push it down with the two of us. Worked great. See the second picture above for the finished joint. I then use a wrench to tighten the bolts on the clutch. Perfect. Do you have extra carpeting? No problem, use a cheap anti-fatigue coating from Harbor Freight or something else that is compressible and is the same thickness.
