I bought this unit to play records through my home stereo/turntable and use it with a bluetooth speaker in another room. I really wanted this thing to work and had high hopes. which were essentially crushed as soon as I took them out of the box. After connecting the device to my stereo receiver, I followed the prompts and attempted to turn the device on by pressing the large center button. When I did this, the button entered the block and wouldn't let go. Basically it's stuck - as are the buttons on either side. In short, this product is very cheaply made and very poorly designed. After somehow (luckily) getting the release buttons into the device, I tried to test it by turning on the vinyl. I immediately noticed that the sound was heavily distorted even though the volume control on my stereo receiver was quite low. I also checked that my bluetooth speaker volume is correct and that was it. After some time of troubleshooting I decided to go to the manufacturer's website and read the FAQ section. There I found that the device transmits sound at a level of +6 dB! It's a bit ridiculous and unnecessary. Luckily I have a DBX expander which I ended up using as an intermediary between my stereo receiver and this unit. I routed the audio through the DBX device, which allowed me to lower the overall output volume before it even reached the stereo receiver. and it allowed me to reproduce sound without distortion. For those of you who don't have some sort of volume mute - a preamp - you're out of luck, I think. I should also mention that there was a delay between the audio coming out of my home stereo speakers. and the sound played through the Bluetooth speaker. which is pretty annoying. To solve this problem, I basically had to turn off the volume on the stereo receiver (except for the stereo speakers) and just use the bluetooth speaker. I think if you're using a bluetooth speaker that's far enough away from the stereo where you can't connect stereo speakers, you might be fine. but other than that it's pretty distracting. The last straw was that I wanted to use the device to play music for our guests on Christmas morning. I put the record on, turned on bluetooth, but there is no sound. Upon further investigation, I noticed that the lights on the unit were not lit at all, however the light on the power supply was on. Basically, the device finally stalled. For what reason I don't know - as I haven't even used it for a couple of days. Again, I had really high hopes for this device. We have a small child in the house which means I have to keep my stereo (and speakers) in another room where he can't get to. So, being able to stream audio to other rooms in the house via Bluetooth seemed like a dream come true. Hopefully there are other comparable articles, but now back to the drawing board.
