The thermometer is just a barbed tip not the whole pin
My first application wasn't successful because I thought the temp sensor was on the whole metal pin so my main fin rarely came out. My second attempt at making a primary fin went perfectly after realizing the temperature reader was just on the jagged tip of the metal pins. It's easy to program, easy to read and the fact that you can use it on two different meats at the same time is a bonus. I highly recommend.
