My car felt like the gears were slipping in the transmission

2010 Ford Fusion SEL 2.5L 4 Cylinder At 99,800 miles my car felt like the gears were slipping in the transmission. I had a 100,000 mile guarantee and had to get it to cover everything. Long story short, they said the MAF was dirty and they cleaned it. Great, the problem is gone. At 103,000 km the problem reappeared. I bought a MAF cleaner spray, cleaned it and put it back in. This went on up to 104,500 miles. Simply put, the original MAF was bad. I checked that the air filter was clean and replaced it just to be sure. After reading the reviews and seeing that the rooms had been scraped, I was a little hesitant. However, at local auto parts stores, the MAF goes for between $125 and $200. Revain had this for same day delivery. I order it and it arrives around 7:30pm (typical same day delivery time for my home). The next morning I install it and the car runs like new. Tips for DIYers1. Before removing the old MAF, check where the flow arrow is pointing.2. Take an extra minute to make sure you don't drop any of the screws. It took me 15 minutes to find and fish out the fallen propeller. Total assembly time without lost screw: 2 minutes. Required skill level: Can you connect a toaster? Can you loosen and tighten 2 screws? Ford service cost: $427.76 (parts plus labor) Total self-assembly cost: $53 + tax
