I like how it works but the programming is a bit difficult to understand. I bought mine in April and used it quite a bit until it got too hot to use the fireplace. We've been using it a lot more this winter but then I realized that when I set the time I set it to daylight saving time so now it's an hour ahead in winter and of course if I want to reset the time I have to do the time reset to default. . Transmitter and program everything from scratch. I don't want to do that because it's too much work. It has multiple modes, but I like to use the programming mode. So if I forget to turn off the fireplace, the program turns it off at 9pm (8pm DST). After nine months, the batteries in the receiver were dead and had to be replaced. That's another reason why I'm glad I didn't get a second one for the ground floor. I used an Ecobee 3 Lite thermostat on the downstairs fireplace. I like this solution much better because it gives me information about how long the fireplace burns. If that fireplace remote ever stops working I will replace it with an Ecobee 3 Lite thermostat.
