A few days ago I suddenly found my Ram 2500 transfer case arm swinging freely back and forth. Once under the truck, it quickly became clear what had happened. The linkage between the body and derailleur fell apart because one of those bushings was dry rotted, and likely fell apart due to the force required to actually engage those pivots in 4-LO. With a bit of trouble I was able to press in a new bushing and get all-wheel drive back for only $10. I ordered two of these although I only had to replace one and I advise you to do the same. Hard rubber can be tricky to push into the little holes they go in, and if you're using pliers you can punch through the center of one of them like I did. But for $5 each, it's worth just buying a spare.
