I would try to find another fan with a better ball

I have a gazebo with two fans/lights. I replaced both. The only thing I didn't like was the way the globes fit. When you install them, there is at least 1/2 inch clearance between the ball and the fan base. You have no way of setting the globe so that you can adjust it without a gap. I will make a pad out of something that can withstand nature.
