This camera has been on my list for a long time. My only regret about this camera is that I didn't jump earlier. My previous (now backup) camera is an EOS Rebel XT so I had access to AEB and RAW, although with 5D I ended up converting the footage to 100% RAW. Canon's downside is 3 frame limit versus Nikon 5/7/9. Not required for most photos, but there are situations in HDR where it would make sense to increase the exposure. To compensate for this, it's very easy to take 3, then adjust the mount without moving the camera an appreciable distance, and add another 3/6 to remove aliasing in post. LOVE HD videos, although I haven't experimented with it enough to really appreciate it. I did an HD shoot where I quickly snapped some HD videos and it was nice/effortless with all the quality. Of course I benefit from the full sensor and the L-series lenses. It's so nice to be able to shoot handheld without a flash in low light. And even my long exposures take significantly less time, resulting in less movement and more ability to shoot in the wind. Wind almost always plays a role at sea. But the MOST ENJOYMENT I've found with this camera is the LIVE VIEW mode. I use it for almost every shot, so now I shoot almost exclusively in manual focus, especially landscape and food shots. I now have maximum control to select a small detail to focus on the front/back edge of the object or the square in the middle. This is the first time in 80/90 days of shooting that I feel like post production was as focused as I envisioned it being during filming. I picked up the Rebel last night to teach the kids and I was blown away by how small the Rebel's LCD screen was so obviously I'm happy with the 5D LCD - it's just the size/quality /To take clarity for granted. I also bought a Zeikos ZE-CBG5DII multipurpose battery for a Canon 5D Mark II and I really like it. from 5d. The 5D's battery indicator menu does a great job of showing both the batteries, how much power is left and what shots are being used. In the last full month I've shot about 1,000 RAW shots (plus some light videos) in hot/cold weather on a single charge each, so I'm very happy with the battery life. The best camera I have owned/used to date.
