Review on Amazon Basics 1-foot Silver Nylon USB Type-C to Micro-B 2.0 Male Charger Cable: Double Braided and Highly Durable by Michael Boyd

Functional cable (USB Micro to USB C) that allows me to play a MIDI instrument directly on my Pixel 3 with USB-C connection is the big one Aluminum ring/tip on "micro" end. A jab of the heat gun and a yank of the pliers took it off and it works. I don't know how long it will last without this boost. This is the only end of the micro USB cable I tried that was too big to fit the hole.
