Aluminum tip doesn't pair well with devices

Functional cable (USB Micro to USB C) that allows me to play a MIDI instrument directly on my Pixel 3 with USB-C connection is the big one Aluminum ring/tip on "micro" end. A jab of the heat gun and a yank of the pliers took it off and it works. I don't know how long it will last without this boost. This is the only end of the micro USB cable I tried that was too big to fit the hole.

Pros
  • Cables and connections
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

All 3 broke within a week

Broke within a week. The original iPad cable still works years later, but I wanted longer fast charging cables. As a result, I bought this one and it broke when connected to the iPad. I figured it was just something I could do so I bought 2 more and they both broke within a week as well. All 3 stopped charging unless you bent the end in a weird way to put pressure on the tip that connects to the iPad. This is not an iPad issue as we have several different brand chargers and they all work except

Pros
  • Computers and accessories
Cons
  • Requires outlet

I was looking for a replacement cable (different brand) that was starting to fall apart. This particular configuration (USB-C to Micro-USB) isn't very common in retail stores, so I turned to Revain. This cable is very well made. Very durable. Metal ends and rope in a fabric braid. A bit harsh, but that's the point. I was concerned that other similar cables had ends/connectors that were too bulky. My devices (USB midi keyboard, CME X-Key Air and my Galaxy Note 4 in a body glove case) have micro…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks
