I needed a compact CD player with speakers for a specific purpose - to play classic CDs at night when I am retired. Due to the limited space I needed something small so I took a chance and bought this item. Overall I am happy with my purchase. POSITIVE POINTS: OK, this is not a professional device, but the speakers deliver more than adequate sound quality. Size matters - not much bigger than a portable CD player "damn" NEGATIVES: Plenty of controls! Need to adjust CD playback speed? Lock button at the bottom near the battery compartment. Do not leave it in the "locked" position, otherwise the device will not play. This has nothing to do with the battery door! confusing. In general, if I master the operation of the device, it works fine - don't lose the instruction manual! Looks and feels like a well made car but time will tell.
