Review on 🔧 Enhance Transmission Performance with ATP B-161 Automatic Transmission Filter Kit by Arnold Carrigan

To fit a 2008 Buick Lucerne. A little concerned about the quality and shape of the plastic part of this filter (underside). It was rough on one side and I was afraid small bits of plastic might fall off. I rubbed my finger and none came off so I went ahead and installed the filter. I reused the old gasket as it was better quality and should be reused. The gasket that comes with the filter will work, but I don't know for how long. A word of caution. If you've never done this before, replacing the filter gasket can be a daunting task. This seal holds the filter in place and is pressed in. You must remove it carefully without damaging the surrounding aluminum surfaces. I used a wood chisel to bend the gasket and then pliers to twist and remove it. A new one can be pressed in with a 13/16 socket and a hammer. Hold the socket upside down. If your filter was tight when you removed it and the new one is tight and you don't see any damage to the gasket, you may not need to change the filter gasket. Don't forget to clean the magnet at the bottom of the pot.
