I bought this because my relatives have a dog that they spoiled. They treat him like a person and give him absolute power in the house. Not my dog, so not my problem. However, when this dog decides to park in front of my room and snaps at me when I try to walk past it, it becomes my problem. So I buy it hoping to solve the problem. When it happened again, I pulled the trigger lightly to spray the sample into the air and then waited. The dog did not respond immediately but became irritated after 3 minutes. After seeing the result, I sprayed HARD on the carpet (never spray on a dog!) and pulled the trigger twice. The dog hates the smell and leaves. IT WORKS OUT! In the past the dog would sit and sit there for hours locking me in or out and I just had to deal with it so this was a fantastic purchase. Over time the dog has learned to respect me and my space and I have learned to love the dog. . And I'd like to think that a lot of that mutual respect is due to this product being used for frontier learning. PS It doesn't really smell like anything unless you sniff the spray area a lot with your nose.
